Canning Basics: Water Bath and Pressure Canning
RESCHEDULED FROM AUG. 7 to AUG. 28.
We are excited to announce a food preservation workshop being held on August 28, taught by OSU Extension’s Family & Consumer Sciences Educator, Melissa J. Rupp. This class will cover every aspect of home canning with water bath and pressure canning methods. Whether you have never canned, perhaps helped a family member with canning years ago or are a seasoned canner, there will be something for you to gain in this class. Build your confidence and ask questions to prepare for your garden harvest and fall preserving. The class will be two hours (5:30-7:30pm), hosted at the Archbold Scout Cabin located at 210 W. Williams St., Archbold. It will address the science, the tools, the timing and each step of the canning process.
"We emphasize the science behind preservation, We want everyone who cans or freezes fresh fruits and vegetables to understand why certain procedures must be followed precisely to ensure a high-quality, safe product that they and their family can enjoy."
-Melissa J. Rupp, M.A.Ed
